Tusk Pulse

Field recordings, kept slowly.

An archive of sounds collected on foot: harbours before dawn, rain on corrugated roofs, the low hum of a substation at the edge of a village. Mostly mono, mostly unedited, always with notes.

Waveform of a forty-minute harbour recording
Forty minutes at a fishing harbour, 05:10–05:50. The spikes are mooring lines.

How the archive works

Each recording gets a date, a place described loosely enough not to be a map, the gear used and a few lines about what was happening around it. Nothing is sold and nothing is licensed; the archive exists because listening back months later is a pleasure of its own.

Spectrogram of rain falling on three different roofs
Rain on tin, slate and canvas, recorded within the same hour.
